The Catalyst in the Room.

A. McBeth, Inc. is a project management firm that takes capital projects from first idea to final closeout. We pressure-test the plan, surface execution risks, and find the gaps in your project before they find your budget.

Our role goes beyond keeping the project moving. We make sure the plan was worth building around.

The Backstory

Anthony McEvoy, founder of A. McBeth, Inc.

A. McBeth, Inc. was founded by Anthony McEvoy, a civil engineer who spent years on every side of the table — contractor, engineer, owner’s rep — across industries from land development to fire protection to energy infrastructure. That cross-industry range isn’t a winding resume. It’s the reason we see what single-industry teams overlook.

I didn’t start in project management. I started in civil engineering, then land development — learning how projects actually move from paper to dirt. When the market shifted, I didn’t sit still. I explored other industries, worked fire sprinkler engineering and project management, then landed in the gas utility world where I found my groove engineering gas systems and managing capital construction programs.

Every industry taught me the same lesson: most project problems aren’t technical. They’re thinking problems. Someone didn’t ask the right question. Someone didn’t challenge the plan. Someone assumed the next guy would catch it.

Many project failures aren’t technical. They’re thinking failures. The hard questions were skipped. We bring them to the forefront.

We publish Insights — field notes from real project work. What we observe, what we get wrong, and the standard of excellence we work toward every day.

What We Actually Do

We embed in your project team and manage capital programs from concept through completion. That means:

Challenging the Engineering Approach

Before it’s locked in — when there’s still time to change it.

Running Vendor and Contractor Selection

A process that holds up under scrutiny and puts the right people in the right seats.

Surfacing Risks Your Team Hasn’t Discussed Yet

Scope conflicts, interface gaps, schedule assumptions that don’t hold — identified before they become field problems.

Keeping Execution Accountable

From first shovel to final closeout.

Who We Work With

Project owners, utilities, general contractors, and organizations running capital programs who want a project management team that thinks before it builds. Our deepest experience is in energy infrastructure and natural gas — but the methodology works anywhere complexity meets execution.
